Titans’ Peter Skoronski out for Week 2 due to appendectomy

We now have more clarity on the “illness” that led to the Tennessee Titans ruling out rookie left guard Peter Skoronski for the Week 2 game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

According to Jared Stillman of 102.5 The Game, and as confirmed by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Skoronski had an issue with his appendix that required an appendectomy.

It isn’t clear exactly when Skoronski had the appendectomy done, but the recovery time can be anywhere from one to four weeks, so it’s possible Skoronski misses multiple games. We wish him a speedy recovery.

As far as how the Titans will fill the void, chances are it’ll be Corey Levin. Other candidates include Dillon Radunz and Xavier Newman.

Skoronski had an impressive debut against the New Orleans Saints. The first-round pick was the Titans’ highest-graded player on offense, according to Pro Football Focus, and was one of the highest-graded first-round picks in the entire NFL.
