There’s no denying that the Tennessee Titans are entering the 2023 season with at least a handful of questions on the offensive side of the ball.
As of right now, there truly is no way to know how the team’s revamped offensive line and wide receivers room will perform come the fall.
It’s easy to assume and/or project improvement, but until the team goes out and actually proves it, there will always be skeptics out there who will take the wait-and-see approach instead of giving the benefit of the doubt.
That appears to be the approach Jared Dubin of CBS Sports took when it came to ranking the Titans’ “triplet” on offense. He has the trio of Ryan Tannehill, Derrick Henry and Treylon Burks ranked No. 25 in the NFL.
The exception to the young quarterback run, we have the Titans in a clear period of transition. It’s entirely possible that next year’s triplets rankings include Will Levis and Tyjae Spears alongside Burks. This definitely seems like a last hurrah for Tannehill and Henry.
The ranking and logic here are especially interesting considering the Titans were ranked No. 19 last year.
I’d imagine the main reason for the regression is the uncertainty at wide receiver, yet I’d argue that the excitement surrounding Burks in Year 2 supersedes anything the Titans had on their roster last year.
The team could also be getting an All-Pro boost in the near future in the form of DeAndre Hopkins. That addition undoubtedly will improve the ceiling of the entire offense the second he arrives.
But until that becomes a reality, you can expect to see a lot of non-believers when it comes to having faith in the Titans’ current offensive personnel.
