With the Tennessee Titans owning the No. 186 overall pick (sixth round) in the 2023 NFL draft, we’re taking a look back at the franchise’s history in that particular spot, as we’ve done with each of their current selections.
Tennessee has the No. 186 overall pick thanks to the 2021 trade with the Atlanta Falcons involving veteran wide receiver Julio Jones. Tennessee traded its original sixth-rounder to the Los Angeles Rams in the Robert Woods deal.
The franchise has only selected at No. 186 overall once, and that came in 1999 when the Titans chose wide receiver Darran Hall. Unfortunately, the pick didn’t pan out, as Hall, who played his college ball at Colorado State, never played a single snap in the NFL.
After striking out in the NFL, Hall spent two years in the CFL, playing for the Calgary Stampeders (2001), Edmonton Eskimos (2001) and Montreal Allouettes (2002). He also had a cup of coffee in the XFL.
The sixth-round pick is just one of six the Titans have in this year’s draft, with Tennessee owning a selection in every round but the fourth, also because of the Jones trade.
