Going into the Week 17 game against the Houston Texans, some Tennessee Titans fans and media wondered if it would be smarter to sit quarterback Will Levis the rest of the season due to the fact he has to play behind an offensive line that can’t protect him, which could lead to another injury.
Well, those fears came to fruition on Sunday, as Levis had his foot stepped on while taking a sack that led to a fumble and touchdown for Houston in the second quarter. He did not return after that.
Thankfully, according to head coach Mike Vrabel, the injury does not appear to be serious.
“I don’t think it’s anything that’s going to be too, too serious,” head coach Mike Vrabel said of Levis’ injury, per Jim Wyatt. “Couldn’t finish the game, so we’ll see where things are tomorrow.”
Vrabel added that the injury is not related to the ankle issue that kept Levis out of the Week 16 game.
The Titans appear to have dodged a bullet with their rookie signal-caller and this latest injury to Levis should be all Vrabel needs to see to know he should not put the Kentucky product out there for another snap this season, even if he’s 100 percent healthy.
