The Tennessee Titans made the hiring of running backs coach and run-game coordinator Justin Outten official on Tuesday, one week after it was initially reported.
Tennessee’s interest in Outten was first reported back in January, when he was requested to interview for an unknown position. Many thought it was for offensive coordinator, but that was never confirmed.
Outten served as the Broncos’ offensive coordinator in 2022, but only called plays for two games with former head coach Nathaniel Hackett having those responsibilities before bungling them horribly.
Denver’s offense actually saw a bit of an improvement with Outten at the helm, but it’s no doubt a small sample size.

This will be the first time Outten holds either of his current titles. He was previously a tight ends coach with the Green Bay Packers under former Tennessee offensive coordinator and Packers head coach, Matt LaFleur.
The 39-year-old coach takes over for Tony Dews, who is transitioning to tight ends coach in 2023.
