Titans make a flurry of roster moves ahead of Week 17

The Tennessee Titans made a flurry of roster moves on Saturday ahead of their Week 17 AFC South battle with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Tennessee announced that they were signing kicker Matthew Wright, guard Arlington Hambright and linebacker Raekwon McMillan to the active 53-man roster to add some much needed reinforcements. To make room, the Titans released cornerbacks Gabe Jeudy-Lally and Tre Avery.

Signing Wright was an interesting move. The Titans already have Brayden Narveson on the roster, but the team decided to sign Wright from the practice squad to kick with Nick Folk sidelined with an abdominal injury.

Like Wright, McMillan was signed earlier in the week and is now being thrust into action. With Kenneth Murray on injured reserve and Otis Reese out with an injury, the Titans are extremely thin at inside linebacker heading into this weekend.

Hambright was out of elevations and had to be signed to the active roster to be available this week. With Dillon Radunz sidelined, he could be the primary backup along the interior of the offensive line.

The team also elevated tackle Chandler Brewer and defensive back Gervarrius Owens from the practce squad with standard elevations. This is the first elevation for boeth Brewer and Owens in 2024.

The Titans take on the Jaguars Sunday at EverBank Stadium in a Week 17 AFC South battle.
