After a sensational 2021 season, the honors just keep rolling in for Tennessee Titans safety Kevin Byard.
On Monday, the Pro Football Writers of America released its annual All-NFL, All-AFC and All-NFC teams, and Byard made the cut on both the All-NFL and All-AFC squads. No other Titans were selected.
This is the second time Byard has made both PFWA teams, as he also got the nod in 2017.
Prior to being named to the PFWA teams, Byard was selected as a First-Team All-Pro by the Associated Press, and was voted to the 2022 Pro Bowl. It is the second time in his career he received both honors.
In a season in which the Titans’ defense did a major turnaround, Byard was one of the key players.
He led the team with 88 total tackles, while also adding five picks, 13 passes defended, one sack, and a pair of defensive touchdowns. Per Pro Football Focus, Byard had the highest overall and coverage grades among safeties.
