Titans interview Chiefs mainstay for vacant GM role

On Monday, NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported that the Tennessee Titans were hosting Kansas City Chiefs assistant general manager Mike Borgonzi for their vacant GM role, which was most recently held by Ran Carthon, who was fired last week.

Borgonzi has held various roles with the Chiefs since arriving in Kansas City in 2009 and has been the team’s assistant GM since 2021.

As a collegian, Borgonzi played fullback for the Brown Bears and earned All-Ivy League honors in three of his four years as a starter.

A holdover from the Scott Pioli era, Borgonzi has weathered many storms throughout his tenure with the Chiefs and has proven to be a reliable asset in Kansas City’s front office.

Though it is unclear who the frontrunners are in Tennessee’s search for a new GM, Borgonzi is sure to be among the most qualified candidates to have interviewed with the Titans, and it would not be a surprise if the Chiefs mainstay gets the gig.
