Not only did the Tennessee Titans have four players ruled out for their Week 6 game against the Baltimore Ravens, but at least three other players suffered injuries during the contest.
The players ruled out ahead of the game were wide receiver Treylon Burks (knee), defensive back Elijah Molden (hamstring), defensive lineman Teair Tart (toe) and linebacker Luke Gifford (hamstring).
The three Titans who sustained injuries and left Sunday’s game in London early were tight end Josh Whyle (concussion), wide receiver Chris Moore (concussion) and quarterback Ryan Tannehill (ankle).
The good news for Tennessee is that the bye comes in Week 7, which gives the aforementioned players a little extra time to get right ahead of the Week 8 game against the Atlanta Falcons in Nashville.
On top of providing the latest updates on those players, we’ll also be taking a look at the guys who are on injured reserve and the physically unable to perform list.
QB Ryan Tannehill (ankle)
Tannehill suffered a high-ankle sprain during the Week 6 game against the Ravens, but it won’t require surgery, according to ESPN’s Jeff Darlington. Typical high-ankle sprains can take four to six weeks to come back from, however no exact timeline was given for his return.
Head coach Mike Vrabel said Tannehill would keep the job if he’s healthy enough to play but did not say who would take over if he can’t. Obviously, Vrabel noted it’s between Malik Willis and Will Levis.
Unlike last year when Titans QB Ryan Tannehill suffered a similar ankle injury, I’m told Tannehill will NOT require surgery this time around. He’s currently in a cast diagnosed with a high ankle sprain, and there’s no definitive timeline for recovery… but “overall good news.” pic.twitter.com/u2WKtqG5Xr

TE Josh Whyle (concussion)
On Monday, Vrabel revealed that Whyle was evaluated for a concussion and that he’d probably enter the protocol. With the bye week, the rookie has a good shot to play in Week 8.
WR Chris Moore (concussion)
Like Whyle, Moore was also evaluated for a concussion and will likely enter the protocol, per Vrabel. Barring it being a bad one, Moore should be available in Week 8.
Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton is not expected to be suspended for the play.
DL Teair Tart (toe)
There’s no timeline update on Tart, who has missed the last two games with an unspecified toe injury. Defensive line coach Terrell Williams spoke about Tart on Monday, but didn’t provide any details.
“He’s working to get back healthy,” Williams said, according to Nashville Post’s John Glennon. “You guys know here we don’t put any timelines on the injuries. Guys just got to get back when they can get back. I’m not a trainer or a doctor, I’m a D-line coach, so I’m not going to answer on when he’s going to be back.”
WR Treylon Burks (knee)
Vrabel sounded optimistic on Burks last week before we was ruled out. He had a similar kind of tone on Monday when asked about the second-year wideout but didn’t say for sure if he’d practice this week.
“I hope that we can see him, maybe being able to throw with Will and Malik” Vrabel said, per Jim Wyatt. “Hopefully we can get him out in some capacity. He looks good, and we’ll keep progressing.”
LB Luke Gifford (hamstring)
Gifford hasn’t played since Week 3 due to a hamstring issue. Vrabel did not provide any update on the linebacker when last speaking to the media on Monday.
DB Elijah Molden (hamstring)
Molden first popped up on the injury report with the hamstring issue in Week 4. He would miss that game before returning in Week 5, but was ruled out again in Week 6. There was no update from Vrabel to start the week.
WR Kearis Jackson (ankle, IR)
Jackson is currently on injured reserve but is eligible to be activated as soon as this week if he’s healthy, although there has been no indication regarding the severity of his injury and when he’ll be able to return. The Titans could use him at punt returner after another Kyle Philips debacle in Week 6.
RB Julius Chestnut (hamstring, IR)
Chestnut is recovering from a hamstring injury sustained in Week 3, but the severity is unknown. Since the bye week doesn’t count toward the four-week minimum stay on IR, the running back will be out at least one more game.
S Mike Brown (undisclosed, IR)
It isn’t clear what Brown is dealing with exactly, but he was spotted in a walking boot and with a scooter following his Week 3 injury. Just like Chestnut, he’ll spend at least one more game on IR.
CB Caleb Farley (back, PUP)
The last we heard about Farley, he had rejoined the team following the tragic death of his father. There remains no timeline on his return to the field, but he’s eligible to be activated at any time.
