Titans held tryouts with three players on Tuesday

Despite not being on the practice field on Tuesday, the Tennessee Titans remained busy in other ways, with the team making roster moves and holding tryouts with three different players.

Before we get to the tryouts, the Titans promoted defensive lineman Kyle Peko from the practice squad to the 53-man roster. To make room, fellow defensive lineman Jayden Peevy was waived.

In addition to those two moves, the Titans released veteran defensive lineman Michael Dwumfour from the practice squad. It hasn’t been confirmed, but my guess is there’s a chance Peevy will take that spot should he clear waivers on Wednesday.

Now, a look at the three tryouts, which includes two defensive backs and a tight end, according to the league’s transactions wire. Tennessee is likely looking at these players for their open practice squad spot if Peevy isn’t brought back, or if there are injuries at the aforementioned positions.

TE Kendall Blanton

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

A former undrafted free-agent signing of the Los Angeles Rams in 2019, Blanton has appeared in 16 games (two starts) during his career, tallying six receptions for 72 yards. He was most recently with the Kansas City Chiefs before being waived on cutdown day. The interest in him likely has to do with his blocking, but he also has special teams experience.

He’s played mostly on special teams but does have 103 career defensive snaps.

Ojemudia was drafted in the third round by the Denver Broncos in 2020 and has played snaps in 22 games (12 starts) during his career, 21 of which came with the Broncos from 2020-22. He was a full-time starter for Denver in 2020. He most recently saw the field as a member of the Chicago Bears during the 2022 campaign. Ojemudia has some special teams experience, also.
