Earlier this month it was reported that the Tennessee Titans were one of two teams with “strong interest” in linebacker Denzel Perryman, along with the Houston Texans.
Well, Perryman is reportedly signing with the Texans on a one-year deal, per Aaron Wilson of KPRC2. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Perryman appeared in 27 games (26 starts) over the last two years with the Las Vegas Raiders and notched his first Pro Bowl appearance in 2021, a season that saw him total 154 tackles, the sixth-most in the NFL.
Tennessee’s interest in Perryman made sense. The Titans have a young group of linebackers led by projected starters Azeez Al-Shaair and Monty Rice that could use a veteran presence like the 30-year-old.
The Titans will now have to look elsewhere for that player.
