Titans drop video teasing reveal of Oilers throwbacks

The Tennessee Titans are set to wear their Houston Oilers throwback jerseys for a home game in 2023, and the team recently dropped a teaser video that hints the reveal will come this summer.

The video features a black oil barrel that has the substance leaking out of the top of it, with “coming summer 2023” written on the front, which likely means the reveal will come then.

The only thing that can make the Titans wearing Oilers throwbacks better is if they do so against the Houston Texans, whose fan base is irate at the idea that Tennessee owns the rights to those jerseys.

That debate was recently re-ignited by Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, who believes Houston should have the rights to the jerseys.

However, former Titans left tackle Taylor Lewan immediately shot that down, rightly noting that Oilers history belongs in Tennessee.

Titans beat writer Jim Wyatt is of the opinion the Titans will wear their throwbacks against the Texans, but fellow long-time beat writer John McClain recently explained why he doesn’t think they will.

I’m right there with McClain in hoping the Titans do wear them against the Texans, as it would certainly add more juice to the divisional rivalry.
