Whenever the Tennessee Titans put up a stinker like they did in Week 3 to the Cleveland Browns, head coach Mike Vrabel’s typical go-to saying is the team has to “coach better and play better” to get better results moving forward.
While that’s all well and good, it doesn’t mean much when the team can’t do it on a consistent basis, and Titans fans are completely over hearing it every time the team loses, especially in the fashion it did on Sunday.
Buy Titans TicketsWhen asked about the latter part of that mantra after the game, defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons said it’s true but the Titans have to start actually doing it more often.
“It is (true) but at the same time, that’s getting old,” Simmons said, per ESPN’s Turron Davenport. “It’s time to actually do it. We’ve been hearing that message every week, now it’s time for us to actually do it.
“We talk about it so much — we’ve got to do this, we’ve got to do that, but it’s a mindset. It’s time to win, time to stop having the same things over and over again. We’ve got to play better and whatever it may be but at the end of the day, I’m a winner, I like to win, so it’s time to put it together and starting winning games.”

It’s great to see a team leader like Simmons echo the feelings of Titans fans who are tired of hearing that. It’s one thing to say it, it’s another thing to do it, and the Titans have to start doing it much more consistently.
