The Tennessee Titans announced two roster moves on Wednesday, including designating linebacker Zach Cunningham to return from injured reserve.
Cunningham landed on the list with an elbow injury that has kept him out the past five games. The veteran linebacker has missed a total of eight games with the injury this season.
The designation opens Cunningham’s 21-day window to be activated. His return will be big, as the Titans are without fellow starting linebacker David Long for at least three more games after he was placed on IR last week.
In other news, the Titans have added running back Jonathan Ward to the practice squad. Ward was one of 10 players to tryout for the Titans on Tuesday.
Ward appeared in 32 games (no starts) for the Arizona Cardinals over three seasons with the team, tallying nine rushes for 33 yards and four receptions for 45 yards and a touchdown.
The signing of Ward gives the Titans some insurance at running back with both Hassan Haskins and Dontrell Hilliard dealing with injuries.
