Titans’ Daniel Brunskill expected to be ready for Week 1

As if the Tennessee Titans didn’t have enough concerns along the offensive line going into 2023, they had reason for another when right guard Daniel Brunskill exited the preseason Week 3 contest early due to a knee injury.

However, Brunskill, who did not practice on Monday, revealed that the injury is nothing to be concerned about and he appears very much on track to be ready for Week 1.

“I feel good. I’ll be all right,” Brunskill said, according to Tom Brew of All Titans. “It’s the coach’s decision for when I get back out there, but it’s all about being ready for Week 1. It was a preseason game, so it was just all about taking care of myself and going in and getting ice. There was nothing, just normal routine.”

With right tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere suspended, Brunskill is one of four new starters upfront for the Titans to begin the season, and five if you consider Aaron Brewer, who is moving from left guard to center.

In terms of the group’s development, Brunskill had a positive outlook.

“I think it’s gone good. There’s definitely some growing pains as you go through it because you’ve got five brand new guys,” he said. “At the end of the day, how many reps can you get in? You want to get as many reps together as you can.

“I’ve never been on a line with all new guys, and when we start running plays, we’ll continue to tweak this as you go along. We’re growing every day, and getting better and communicating. We’re getting more and more comfortable.”

The Titans will start their season on the road on Sept. 10, when they take on the New Orleans Saints.
