Titans Cornerback Caleb Farley’s Father Killed As House Explodes Overnight

Titans cornerback Caleb Farley’s house in Mooresville, N.C., exploded overnight, according to local authorities. Farley’s 61-year-old father, Robert M. Farley, was killed and another undisclosed person was injured in the explosion.

Caleb Farley, 24, was not home at the time of the explosion. He is a native of Maiden, N.C., a little under 25 miles from Mooresville.

Per the office of Kent Greene—Iredell County, N.C.’s director of fire services and emergency management—authorities responded to reports of an explosion that caused a house to collapse overnight. The 6,300-square foot, $2 million home and its vehicles were judged to be completely irrecoverable, reduced to rubble by blast.

Per Greene, no cause of the explosion has been established, and seven different local, state and federal agencies have had a hand in the response at one point or another.

The younger Farley, a first-round pick by Tennessee in 2021 out of Virginia Tech, is currently preparing for his third NFL season.
