Titans continue to rank unfathomably high in ESPN’s win-rate rankings

To say the 2023 Tennessee Titans have been a team full of disappointment in the trenches would be a massive understatement.

On the defensive side of the ball, the once-elite pass-rush and run defense has significantly regressed into an average-at-best unit.

An offer for Titans fans

For the best local Nashville news, sports, entertainment and culture coverage, subscribe to The Tennessean.

Harold Landry looks like a shell of his former self in his first year back from a torn ACL, Denico Autry is slowly starting to look his age (33), Teair Tart has been up and down while also battling injury and Jeffery Simmons and Arden Key have shown flashes of dominance but have lacked consistency.

Despite their obvious struggles, the Titans still rank surprisingly high when it comes to their pass-rush and run-stopping win rates, per ESPN Analytics.

As for the offensive side of the ball, it’s been a complete disaster. According to Pro Football Focus, the Titans have one of the worst offensive lines and are coming off a game where they allowed 21 quarterback pressures, 13 quarterback hits and four sacks.

Yet, based on ESPN’s metrics, the Titans’ O-line ranks in the top 11 in both run-block win rate and pass block win rate.

As someone who watches every single snap this team plays, I tend to lean toward PFF’s ranking instead. Nonetheless, it’s interesting to see the different stances of the analytics community.

Now, let’s go ahead and take a peek at where exactly the Titans rank after 10 weeks in ESPN’s win-rate metrics.
