The Tennessee Titans announced a grand total of five moves on Saturday ahead of their Week 13 battle against the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday.
The team has activated outside linebacker Ola Adeniyi from injured reserve. Adeniyi was designated to return earlier in the week and is set to play in his first game since Week 2.
In order to make room for Adeniyi on the roster, the Titans waived kicker Caleb Shudak, who filled in for veteran Randy Bullock in Week 12. Shudak made three of four field goals in the Titans’ 20-16 loss to Cincinnati.
Shudak’s fate was sealed once Bullock, who had missed two games in a row, was deemed healthy enough to play this week. It’ll be interesting to see if the Titans try to bring Shudak back on the practice squad if he clears waivers.
Now, a look at all five of the moves Tennessee made ahead of Sunday.
Activated from IR: OLB Ola Adeniyi
The Titans have been rolling with two outside linebackers on their roster for awhile now in Rashad Weaver and Bud Dupree. Adeniyi offers some much-needed depth on the edge and offers a boost to special teams.
Waived: K Caleb Shudak
This might not be the last we see of Shudak in Nashville, as it’s possible the team brings him back on the practice squad if he clears waivers. That said, Bullock’s job is officially secure.
Downgraded to out: RB Hassan Haskins (hip)
Haskins popped up on the injury report on Friday with a hip issue, leading to his eventually being ruled out. The Titans will now look to their practice squad for a third running back for Sunday.
Elevated from practice squad: RB Julius Chestnut
A 2022 UDFA signing of the Titans, Chestnut was one of the biggest surprises on the team’s initial 53-man roster. He was waived back in October before being brought back on the practice squad. He’ll serve as Tennessee’s third running back behind Derrick Henry and Dontrell Hilliard in Week 13.
Elevated from practice squad: DB Davontae Harris
With Elijah Molden (groin) set to miss another game, the Titans may opt to have Harris active as some emergency depth in the secondary. If so, this will be Harris’ second game for the Titans after he played 10 special teams snaps in Week 11.
