After taking a look at the Tennessee Titans’ team rankings on Tuesday, we’re now shifting our focus to taking a look at which players led the way for the team in the major statistical categories on both sides of the ball.
The vast majority of the Titans’ statistical leaders went just about the way you’d expect, but there were some surprises to talk about. Like, for instance, cornerback Tre Avery notching the most passes defensed with nine.
Outside of 20 snaps in Week 2 and two snaps in Week 9, Avery didn’t see much playing time until Week 10, and even then his snap counts were 20 or less in four of his last seven games played.
Avery was pressed into action with the Titans’ secondary banged-up and he showed some flashes of potential in his opportunities, along with the kinds of mistakes you’d expect from a rookie. He’ll be a solid depth option in 2023.
Now, the rest of the Titans’ individual leaders.

In case you didn’t already figure it out, this is the entire list of Titans who scored receiving touchdowns in 2022 — and to make the passing offense look worse, it’s led by a running back.
Dontrell Hilliard is a good player, but running backs shouldn’t be leading their team in receiving touchdowns.

This was one of the bigger surprises, although maybe not considering we knew Walker had a tremendous year as a reserve. The Titans should be interested in keeping him as depth in 2023.
