There are a lot of ways in which you could describe the 2022 Tennessee Titans offense, but unfortunately, explosive is not one of those ways.
To say the Titans’ offense under Todd Downing was lackluster would be completely underselling it. By now, we should all know about the second-half scoring troubles, questionable third-down calls, dismal play designs, ridiculous play calling, etc.
The list goes on and on and on and…
Warren Sharp of Sharp Football Analysis recently conducted some research surrounding how explosive each offense was last season, and the Titans came in tied for 22nd, only producing 54 plays of 20 or more yards.

For comparison, the No. 1 team and eventual Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, tallied a whopping 83 plays of 20-plus yards.
The Titans still have some work to do at the wide receiver position if they truly want to improve in this area, but bringing in a competent offensive coordinator such as Tim Kelly is a good start.
