Reo Hatate insists Celtic teammate Daizen Maeda is reaping the rewards for his hard work after his outstanding season.
The Hoops colleagues are on international duty with Japan, who could become the first country to qualify for the 2026 World Cup today if they beat Bahrain in a qualifier.
Maeda is a doubt for the match after suffering bruising during Celtic's Old Firm defeat to Rangers at the weekend.
If he plays, he will be aiming for his 30th goal of the season for club and country and Hatate believes Maeda's graft has paid off.
And he's hoping he can play a part for his country too.
He said: "Daizen Maeda is on top form right now and has been scoring so many goals for us.

"He's had some luck, but mostly these goals are as a result of the daily effort he puts in.
"And I think that's now showing on the pitch.
"We have almost qualified for the World Cup, but it's important that we concentrate on our own game in every match.
"It's a big match, but just like in every match, our only aim is to win.
"Personally speaking, I am aware that I am on the edge of the first team.
"I have experienced many disappointments since coming here, so I will keep working hard.
"If I get a chance, I hope I can play to my full potential."
