Tipping Point viewers slam contestant for his 'painful bad habit'

Tipping Point viewers slammed a contestant for his ’painful bad habit’ which left some feeling uncomfortable.

During Monday’s edition of the hit ITV daytime quiz show, hosted by Ben Shephard, John was one of the hopefuls aiming to win big and scoop the £10,000 jackpot, alongside fellow players Rosie, Salvi and Kirsty.

However, eagle-eyed fans were quick to notice that he kept calling the coin machine “baby” and “babes”, and were left unimpressed.

During the first round, John failed to knock down any counters, but made a stunning comeback to overtake Kirsty, and was catapulted in the lead with £800.

But as he waited for the counters to drop, he repeatedly said: “Come on, baby.”

“Come on, babes, come on, babes,” he said during his turn, and on his second go, he told the machine: “"Come on, baby, come on, baby. Keep pushing, keep pushing.”

His unusual name for the Tipping Point machine was blasted by viewers on Twitter, who said it sounded “creepy” and put them off watching.

“John stop it with the come on baby,” one posted.

“Is it a prerequisite to talk to the counters, saying things such as ‘come on, baby!’” another sarcastically asked.

“PLEASE can somebody stop John from calling the tipping point baby,” one irked viewer tweeted.

“The way John keeps saying 'come on babes' is ridiculously creepy,” another added, as a disgruntled fan simply told him to “shut up!”

“It really creeps me out when men keep saying come on baby, do they not realise just how pervy they sound,” another added, as one viewer called John “the most annoying contestant”.

It was neck-and-neck between Rosie and John for a spot in the final, after Salvi was booted off after only winning £250, and Kirsty followed shortly after.

Rosie eventually beat John, and ended up winning the £10,000 jackpot.
