Tipping Point viewers furious as quiz ITV show unexpectedly taken off-air

Tipping Point viewers have reacted after the quiz show was removed from the television schedule unexpectedly. The programme, hosted by Ben Shepherd, usually airs weekdays at 4pm on ITV but has been subject to a shake-up this week.

The show, which celebrates its 10-year anniversary in 2022 after launching in 2012, sees contestants take on an old-school coin machine in the hopes of winning big money. With multiple rounds, contestants must answer questions correctly in order to drop a coin and if it falls successfully, their cash prize rises.

But Tipping Point was taken off-air on Thursday, April 7 to make way for the Grand National. ITV has been rolling out its coverage live from the Aintree racetrack ahead of the event on Saturday, April 9.

Reacting to the schedule change, one Tipping Point fan wrote: "Bloody horse racing taking my fix of Ben Shephard away." While another added: "Looks like it's another not so great day to be a fan of Tipping Point, bloody horse racing again!"

And it's bad news for those hoping to tune in on Friday, April 8 as Tipping Point has been cancelled once again. Both the quiz show and gameshow Lingo with Adil Ray have been removed from the schedule to accommodate the sport.

Lingo and Tipping Point will both be back to their regular schedules from April 11. Kicking off today at 1:45pm, Grand National coverage continues with five races, including the 3.30 Marsh Chase and 4.05 Topham Chase. For more showbiz and television stories, get our newsletter here.
