Tipping Point fans were outraged when a contestant made a shocking sci-fi blunder during tonight's episode of the ITV quiz show. The contestants were in the second round and answering quick-fire questions to build up their pot of counters.
During her round of questions, Jill, a cookery teacher from Newcastle, was asked "Which Star Trek character was played by Leonard Nimoy and Zachary Quinto?". She answered with "Doctor Spock", which didn't go unnoticed by eager-eared fans.
Jill eventually made it through to the final round where she took home the £10,000 jackpot. With mystery prizes of a slushie machine and a hotel break, she said she'd look forward to a good shopping spree with her winnings.

But fans couldn't look past her Star Trek blunder and took to Twitter to air their grievances. On Twitter, Rosie said: "Doctor Spock is a child development expert. It’s MR Spock in Star Trek. Kirk never called him Doctor. #tippingpoint"
David said: "Kirk never called him doctor. Doctor Spock was an American child psychiatrist #tippingpoint"
After her answer of Doctor Spock was accepted by host Ben Shephard, there was outrage from fans. @GFFurness said: "Captain Kirk never called Mr Spock “Doctor”! WTF are you talking about, Ben? #TippingPoint".
She added: "Dr Spock was a childcare guru and people confusing him with the Star Trex character really gets on my [nerves]."
Another fan, Dean said: " @TippingPointITV Doctor Spock was a real life Doctor. Mr Spock in Star Trek was a Science Officer & was never once referred to as Doctor Spock. Therefore the answer Doctor Spock was wrong & should not have been accepted. Please remember this for future episodes #TippingPoint "
As fans have pointed out, Benjamin Spock was an American paediatrician and political activist. His parenting advice and recommendations revolutionised parental upbringing in the United States, and he is considered among the most famous and influential Americans of the 20th century.
Mr Spock, on the other hand, is a half-human, half-Vulcan from sci-fi series Star Trek. He was originally played by Leonard Nimoy and later Zachary Quinto.
