Tipping Point fans fume over player's 'irritating' habit as he misses out on prize money

Tipping Point fans have dubbed a contestant the most ‘boring’ ever due to his ‘irritating’ habit.

Host Ben Shephard welcomed Debbie, Luke, Leslie and Rhydian to Monday afternoon’s edition of the popular ITV game show, which sees players compete for a £10,000 jackpot.

Contestants must put their general knowledge to the test and answer questions to win counters.

The counters are then put in a 2p coin pusher arcade-style machine, but to convert into cash they must land in a ‘win zone’.

While it quickly became clear that brainbox Rhydian was the one to beat, fans moaned they almost switched off due to his unnecessarily lengthy answers.

As Rhydian made it through to the final round, host Ben asked which column he wanted to put his jackpot counter in.

“Well mum would insist I go with one or four. She thinks having the wall at one end means that it can’t skew off into a different section too much,” he explained.

Providing even more detail, he continued: “One has got that bug cluster that’s kind of on the edge of one and two, so if I don’t get the jackpot counter there’s some good money to be had.

“Four, not hugely busy in terms of the shelves, but that might mean the jackpot counter comes through a bit more quickly.

“But I think with the money that’s in the bank, that’s enough to take them [mum and dad] to the restaurant that I want to go to. So I’m going to go for four, and go for it all, go for the jackpot.”

But viewers were quick to voice their opinions on Rhydian’s ‘irritating’ habit on Twitter.

One said: “Just turned on and this bloke is irritating me already, god can he talk! Witter, witter, witter – no-one is interested in all these lengthy explanations #tippingpoint.”

“#tippingpoint Just answer the question! You don’t have to explain everything!” another wrote.

A third tweeted: “Sorry I’m 50 mins late, this bloke bored me to sleep #tippingpoint.”

“You wouldn’t want to be trapped in a lift with him. Boring!” a fourth commented.

While a fifth fumed: “#tippingpoint The Chase is cancelled because Tipping Point is overrunning. This guy would be great on a night out.”

Sadly Rhydian lost out on the prize money in the end, with one fan joking: “Looks like a portion of fish and chips for the parents #tippingpoint.”
