A contestant on today’s Tipping Point had trouble answering a simple question correctly, causing host Ben Shephard to cringe and throw his hands up in the air in frustration.
Tipping Point is an addictive show that keeps viewers entertained with its heady mix of general knowledge questions and its often temperamental machine. Straightforward questions can sometimes throw contestants off kilter and this is what seems to have happened on today’s Tipping Point episode.
Host Ben Shephard asked a question to the contestant panel. The seemingly simple question was: “By definition, what is the youngest age a person can be, to be described as a teenager?”

Contestant Lucy, an infrastructure engineer from County Fermanagh, answered “19” causing Shephard to throw his hands in the air and say “Youngest Lucy, youngest!”
A surprised Shephard continued: “It’s 13 of course Lucy. It’s 13.”
All Lucy could do was exclaim “Oh no.” Lucy was the second person to leave the show.

Other contestants appeared to be a hit with viewers on social media, in particular finalist Mike.
@hpchlo said: “Hope Mike wins cos he's actually got a brain which is more than can be said for most contestants.”
@Queen_Vix88 said: “Mike too good for tippingpoint”
Mike went on to be the winner of the £10,000 jackpot.
Tipping Point airs Monday-Friday on ITV at 4pm.
