Tipping Point answer forces viewers to 'spit their tea out'

A Tipping Point contestant's answer caught the attention of viewers for its ridiculousness.

Ben Shephard was back today as he welcomed another three players hoping to win a £10,000 cash prize. The show kicked off with a relatively easy question but a contestant's answer swept viewers off their feet.

With the first question of the day, Ben said: "What word is the name of a velvety burrowing mammal and a secret spy or informant?" Contestant Steve was confident he knew the answer and barely let Ben finish before he buzzed in.

Steve answered "Squirrel" but soon realised he was wrong as mole was the correct choice. Explaining his answer, Steve said: "I was thinking secret squirrel."

The bold answer caught viewers by surprise as they couldn't believe he got the question wrong. One viewer said: "Just spat my tea out !! When he said squirrel"

Another added: "We had squirrel when I was in MI6."

A third viewer jokingly said: "Worryingly, Steve is a teacher."

A final comment added: "Squirrel! God give me strength."

Steve was sadly knocked out of the competition in round three after Shannon took a £300 lead.
