A studio flat has been put up for rent in Greater Manchester this week and is one of the cheapest on the market at the moment. The rental home in Ashton-under-Lyne, Tameside is advertised to let on Rightmove for £420 a month, which equates to around £100 per week - but it is fair to say that the tenant might struggle for space.
The renter will have to be creative when it comes to maximising space in the unfurnished flat which is compacted into one single room with a separate bathroom. The living space in the rental accommodation is made up of just a small kitchen area with the rest of the room lending itself to a combined lounge and bedroom area.
Anyone who rents the tiny studio flat on Stockport Road will find themselves sleeping just inches away from where they'll cook and face having to find enough room to fit a bed, dining table and sofa into the tight space.

The flat is listed by the landlord as suitable for a 'single professional or couple' but tenants must be more than 30 years old.
The Rightmove listing describes the accommodation as a 'previously refurbished' studio flat with a 'spacious' lounge area, modern kitchen area, separate modern fitted shower room and private secure off road parking. Tenants will share washing facilities with other residents in the building.
There is a service charge of £100 per month for bills, not including council tax, and to secure the studio flat a £484 deposit must be put down.
The Rightmove listing reads: "This previously refurbished studio flat would be ideal for a single professional or couple.
"Offering lounge and modern fitted kitchen, bedroom area and separate shower room. The property has secure private parking. Also benefiting from heating and double glazing.
"The property is located close to local amenities, transport networks and neighbouring town of Ashton under Lyne and it's amenities.

The listing continues: "Pets may be considered with the landlord's consent and an additional 5% on the rental amount per month. This rent will remain throughout the tenancy regardless of a change in circumstances.
"Failure to declare a pet will result in the increased rent being charged back to the move in date of the initial tenancy.
"Pets are not permitted to stay short term unless written permission is obtained and granted by the landlord.
"Failure to disclose a pet may result in the tenancy being terminated for breach of contract."
