Tiny Edinburgh studio flat in old coal cellar on market for £4500 a month

An Edinburgh 'studio' flat is being advertised on a local letting site for a whopping £4500 a month or £1,038.4 a week.

The single room with a bathroom consists of a fold out sofa bed on the floor, pink chest of drawers, a desk and chair and a toilet.

The property is located in what appears to be an old basement level coal cellar of a townhouse at Carlton Terrace in the upmarket Hillside area on the slopes of Calton Hill.

A fold out sofa that turns into a low level double bed takes up most of the space with a desk and chair at the other end of the room so tenants can work from home.

The capital is known for its challenging housing market for both buyers and renters. With the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and International Festival kicking off in around four weeks, there will be high demand for accommodation.

The flat does boast a central location ideal for walking into town with plenty of shops, bars and pubs nearby and is located minutes from local beauty spot Calton Hill.

In the advert the property is advertised as being family, student and pet friendly and is available from July 1.
