Tinsel Town is coming to the Trafford Centre with a festive fair, ice rink, Santa's grotto and more

Tinsel Town is coming to the Trafford Centre promising a 'sensational outdoor experience' this Christmas.

The event, outside The Orient, will include 'a winter wonderland of rides', an ice rink and the chance to visit Father Christmas inside his twinkling tipi.

Visitors will be able to glide down 'the UK’s longest toboggan slide', take a spin on the big wheel, ride the Santa train and put their skating skills to the test on the 600-square metre covered ice rink.

Gandeys Snowstorm - 'a sensational ice-skating show' - will also be performed live inside a heated Big Top, where an international cast of ice skaters and 'incredible' circus artistes promise to wow audiences with their 90-minute 'spectacular production' created and produced by Carol and Phillip Gandey.

There'll be plenty of festive fare up for grabs too, with mulled wine and other delights from traditional Bavarian Huts, as well as independent street food vendors including the new Oh My Glaze, Old School Dogs, The Thai Food Van, Epic Pizza, Bouji Baker and Clean Traits.

Tinsel Town opens on Saturday, November 13 and like the previous Summer Social and Spookfest events, there'll be a £3.50 entry fee (£3 if booked online) and rides will operate on a token system, costing £1 per token, and ranging from two to three tokens per ride.

The Father Christmas tipi will be running from November 19 and costs £9 per child (including a gift from Santa) and £5 per adult.

Children will be welcomed by his elves and will head through to see the big man himself to hear about the preparations he's making for Christmas. They'll also get to join in with the Elves' Christmas song. Sessions can be booked online here.

Ice skating costs £7.50 for ages three to 15 off-peak and £9 at peak times. Adults are £9.50 and £12 respectively. Family tickets cost £30 off-peak, £35 peak.

Tickets for Gandeys Snowstorm cost from £9.99 and can be booked online here.

Zoe Inman, centre director at the Trafford Centre, said: “Eat, drink, skate, slide and be merry at the Trafford Centre this Christmas. Make special memories at Tinsel Town before enjoying some Christmas shopping and feasting.

"With late night shopping until 11pm from December 20 to 23, festive music on the malls and spectacular Christmas lights to enjoy, a visit to the Trafford Centre isn’t to be missed.”

Those visiting the ice show, Father Christmas, or wanting to enjoy food and drinks in the giant covered hangar don't need to pay the general admission fee.
