According to the International Menopause Society (IMS), the meaning behind World Menopause Day is to “raise awareness of the menopause and the support options available for improving health and wellbeing.”
Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is a treatment that helps to relieve the symptoms of menopause which include hot flushes, night sweats, mood swings, vaginal dryness and reduced sex drive, according to the NHS.
Timpson has received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback as a result of the announcement, with nearly 25,000 likes and thousands of comments in response.
