A crucial step in any romance is impressing the parents, and that even applies when you’re a bonafide (if a little puzzling) power couple like Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner.
While fans have largely been kept in the dark in regards to the most unexpected Hollywood pairing since Greta Gerwig and Barbie, we’ve now been given a morsel of intel courtesy of Chalamet’s mum, Nicole Flender.
The nepo parent offered her thoughts on Chalamet’s boo in a recent interview with Curbed, revealing whether the reality TV mogul has gotten the matriarchal tick of approval.
Since she’s a member of the KarJenner clan, you might think a mother’s instinct would be to disapprove, but it seems Flender is as chuffed with Jenner as Chalamet was with that peach in Call Me By Your Name.
“I have to say, she’s lovely,” Flender said of the woman no-doubt snapping her twink son in two. “She’s very nice to me.”
The relationship tea followed questions about the purchase of Chalamet’s new house in Beverly Hills, the same locale as all of Jenner’s multiple homes.
“He said, ‘Guess what? I bought a house,’” Flender recalled. “Did he ask for my advice? No.”
It’s not the first time Jenner and Flender have exchanged a sweet interaction.
Jenner joined her potential in-law at the Oscars earlier this year, where Chalamet was nominated for his role as Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown.
While there, Jenner was seen giving up her seat for Flender before the best actor category was announced, so the mother-son duo could be close to each other during his big moment.
For his part, Chalamet seems to have scored parental brownie points of his own, after Kris Jenner (who I’m convinced masterminded the entire relationship) was caught ‘liking’ an Instagram picture of Chalamet and Jenner at the 2025 Golden Globes.
Chalamet and Jenner’s romance dates back to 2023, and while they’ve been through break up rumours, taco dates, and supposed fashion references at the Met, they appear to still be going strong.
Somewhere out there, the voice of Kris after hearing of Flender’s approval whispers in the Calabasas breeze: “You’re doing amazing, sweetie.”
