The production team includes Safdie, Bronstein, Eli Bush, and Anthony Katagas as producers.
This project marks a reunion between Safdie and A24, the production company behind his previous films Good Time (2017) and Uncut Gems (2019), both of which were co-directed by Safdie's brother, Benny Safdie. While the Safdie brothers are no longer planning to co-direct projects, they will continue to collaborate as producers through their company Elara Pictures. Bronstein, known for his work on Good Time and Uncut Gems, is also involved in Marty Supreme.
Reportedly, Marty Supreme will involve ping-pong, a detail hinted at by A24 in a teaser image shared on social media. Chalamet, known for his roles in Dune: Part Two, Wonka, and Bones and All, is also set to portray Bob Dylan in James Mangold's upcoming biopic A Complete Unknown, where he will serve as a producer.
For Josh Safdie, Marty Supreme will be his first solo directorial feature since 2008's The Pleasure of Being Robbed. Meanwhile, Benny Safdie is directing The Smashing Machine, a biopic about former wrestler and mixed martial artist Mark Kerr, starring Dwayne Johnson and produced by A24.
