It was a busy summer at Chelsea following the takeover by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital, and the new owners wasted little time getting busy in the transfer market.
The Blues added the likes of Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly and Marc Cucurella on their way to spending in excess of £200million during their first transfer window. However, Chelsea saw plenty of activity in the opposite direction too, with some intense decisions made as players parted ways with the club.
The club took a loss on the likes of Timo Werner, while Chelsea parted ways with Ross Barkley for free despite a year remaining on his deal. As such football.london takes a look at how the players who left over the summer are doing in their new pastures this far.

Timo Werner (RB Leipzig) - It's hard not to consider Werner as back at home in Leipzig, and the German forward wasted little time in finding his goalscoring touch back in the Bundesliga. The 26-year-old has netted nine times in 16 appearances and added four assists but saw his World Cup dream crushed when he tore a ligament against Shakhtar Donetsk just weeks before the tournament.
Emerson Palmieri (West Ham) - The Italian full-back was a key member of the West Ham side that progressed to the knockout stages of the Europa Conference League but has been unable to make himself a fixture in the Premier League lineup. Emerson has provided a goal and assist in 13 appearances overall but has been confined to the bench for the Irons' last five league games.
Billy Gilmour (Brighton) - The Scotland international probably didn't expect to lose his new head coach to his former club quite so soon into his time on the south coast. The midfielder has played for just 13 minutes in the Premier League but impressed against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup. Nevertheless, the youngster is enjoying his time at Brighton.
He said: "I am enjoying it. I needed to be patient for my opportunity, and I got my opportunity and played okay, so I need to build on that. But I am loving life here so far, and hopefully, that continues.
"Of course, you get frustrated sometimes, but we are all together, we are a team, we are in it for the full season, so we all need to stick together, push, and see how high we can get up [the league table]."
Kenedy (Real Valladolid) - After failing to make an impact at Stamford Bridge in the latter half of last season, Kenedy headed to LaLiga. Unfortunately, a groin injury has ensured that the Brazilian has featured for just 14 minutes.
Marcos Alonso (Barcelona) - Surprisingly, after a number of injuries at Camp Nou, Alonso has spent more time as a central defender than a full-back since moving to Catalonia. The Spaniard has had pretty good reviews too.
Charly Musonda (Levante) - Few have had as injury-plagued a time at Chelsea as Musonda, and in September, he made his first professional appearance in more than 1,000 days. His time away from the Blues first saw him accused of going AWOL after being on trial with Zulte Waregem, though Musonda described those people as not 'knowing the truth' and joined Levante. The winger has still just managed 59 minutes across four appearances, however.
Matt Miazga (FC Cincinnati) - Helped FC Cincinnati to the MLS Cup playoffs and scored twice on the way but were knocked out in the conference semi-final. Despite impressing on his return to the USA, he did not get the call for the World Cup and was not expecting one. Ahead of the US squad being announced, he said of his relationship with coach Gregg Berhalter: "We didn't see eye to eye on a few things in the past, and that has affected me from being called up. But it is what it is."
Antonio Rudiger (Real Madrid) - The German defender has netted twice for Los Blancos in his opening 17 appearances for the club but suffered a hip injury to miss the final two games before the World Cup gets underway. Rudiger's time at Real Madrid has perhaps been most notable for requiring 20 stitches after he collided with Shakhtar Donetsk goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin.
Jake Clarke-Salter (QPR) - The 25-year-old suffered an early season hamstring injury before earning his way back into the QPR starting XI. The Blues' academy product has featured ten times for his new side, even being used at left-back against Coventry in his most recent outing, though he appeared to pick up another injury to the frustration of some.
Andreas Christensen (Barcelona) - The Denmark international departed Chelsea for free in the summer and featured eight times for Barcelona ahead of the World Cup. Christensen spent some time out with a sprained ankle but returned to start for Barcelona in their final La Liga match before the break.
Ross Barkley (Nice) - Barkley saw his contract terminated by mutual consent with the Blues before he was able to find a club. The midfielder has played in eight of Nice's ten matches since he joined the club but has yet to record a goal or assist. Barkley was one of five former Premier League players to join the club in the summer, including Nicolas Pepe and Aaron Ramsey.
Danny Drinkwater - Has yet to find a club since his contract expired.
