Chelsea duo Timo Werner and Christian Pulisic reportedly have contrasting views on leaving the club in swap deals in the summer transfer window.
Both Werner and Pulisic, whose spells at Stamford Bridge have had wavering levels of success, have been linked with leaving the club this summer. Both names have been touted in mentioned in a potential swap deal to bring Juventus centre-back Matthijs de Ligt to west London.
However, reports claim that although Werner would be open to an exit in this transfer window, American ace Pulisic is instead keen on staying in Thomas Tuchel’s squad and fighting for regular minutes in the 2022/23 campaign.
Last month, reports from Sky Italy claimed that Chelsea were willing to offer €45m (£38.7m) plus Werner to sign De Ligt, suggesting that Werner would be keen on signing for Juventus, although he may have to lower his wage demands in order to facilitate the move.
However, the Daily Mail have reported that while Pulisic’s name has been mentioned as a potential bargaining chip in a swap move to sign De Ligt, he would not be keen on a move. Instead, he wants to focus his future on being a regular under Tuchel, who managed the American winger while in charge of Borussia Dortmund.
Chelsea are reportedly in advanced talks to sign Raheem Sterling this summer, meaning the likes of Pulisic and the club’s other wingers face a battle on their hands to start ahead of him this summer.

Sterling is among a number of wingers linked the Blues alongside the likes of Leeds United’s Raphinha, free agent Ousmane Dembele and Paris Saint-Germain’s Neymar.
That could lead to a number of attacking exits this summer and one of those is likely to be Moroccan winger Hakim Ziyech, who is tipped to complete a move to Italy and join Juventus’ Italian rivals AC Milan this summer.
De Ligt is one of many centre-backs on Tuchel's radar to reinforce the Blues defence. Manchester City ’s Nathan Ake and RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol have both also been touted as being on the club’s watchlist this summer.
However, reports have suggested suggested that Chelsea will have a bid of £67m rejected by Juventus, with that offer set to be for straight cash and not involving, Pulisic, Werner or any other member of the Blues’ playing squad.
Chelsea defenders Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso have both been credited with transfer interest from Spanish giants Barcelona, the same club that are set to sign ex-Blues defender Andreas Christensen following his release from Stamford Bridge.
Tuchel’s side are yet to complete a signing this summer, with London rivals Arsenal completing their fourth arrival on Monday morning after signing striker Gabriel Jesus from Man City for £45m.
