Celtic striker Johnny Kenny has bid an emotional farewell to Shamrock Rovers following the conclusion of his loan spell, expressing his gratitude for the past two seasons with the League of Ireland side.
Kenny, 21, took to social media to thank the club, its supporters, and his teammates, reflecting on his time in Dublin as an unforgettable chapter in his career.
“Been a pleasure to be able to play for Shamrock Rovers the past two seasons,” wrote Kenny, who arrived back at Celtic last month.

The young forward’s time in the Republic of Ireland has helped his development, and Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has now backed him to make the step up to the senior setup at Parkhead after they were unable to bring in a replacement for Kyogo Furuhashi before the recent transfer window slammed shut.
Kenny originally joined Celtic from Sligo Rovers in January 2022 but was sent on loan to Queen's Park and then Shamrock Rovers to gain regular first-team minutes.
Now, with his return to Glasgow, he will be aiming to impress Rodgers and stake his claim for a place in Celtic’s starting XI as they look to compete both domestically and in Europe between now and the end of May.
