Timeline for Danilo Rangers injury comeback laid bare

Rangers striker Danilo is set for a comeback from injury sooner rather than later.

The Brazilian forward is expected to be back available for selection within a couple of weeks, according to The Rangers Review.

Danilo had to be substituted in the 3-0 win over Aberdeen due to a shoulder issue with fears it was connected to a previous injury.

Clement, though has confirmed Danilo's injury is not related to any previous problems with the striker having visited a specialist to determine the severity of the shoulder knock.

He has been advised to wear a brace on his upper body to aid recovery.

It's now thought that the injury is not serious and Danilo will return to the Rangers squad in the near future.

Danilo was expected to be rested for the Scottish Cup tie against Fraserburgh this weekend regardless and he is ineligible for the Europa League match against Manchester United next week.

The forward may not be ready for the Scottish Premiership contest against Dundee United on January 26 but could be available to face Ross County on February 2.

Asked for an injury update, Clement said: "Danilo will be out, not a full assessment yet about that case, and Cortes also.

"The other players who were not available before will not be available.

"Jack Butland is still a question mark, but he's also close to coming back into training with the squad.

"We will see tomorrow if he can play with the squad and what conclusions to make about that.

On Danilo and Oscar Cortes, Clement added: "No, they're today with specialists. I'm not a specialist in those things. We need to hear their assessment first."
