Keith Flett expects Keir Starmer to pledge to sort out the cost and availability of nutritious fish and chips (Letters, 20 July). However, Labour’s first priority should be to batter the Tories at the next election, and, as of last Thursday, he has another Keir to help him.

Fortunately, the best pub in Leigh-on-Sea was inexplicably ignored, so that’s a secret gem safe from invading Guardian walkers.
