Time to ditch your satellite dish? There's another new way to buy and watch Sky TV

If you can't or simply don't want a Sky dish stuck to the outside of your home there's now a much easier way to get blockbuster TV channels beamed into your home. Sky Stream launched late last year with this palm-sized device using your broadband to whizz live and on-demand content to your TV.

Until now, those wanting to switch to Stream needed to go online, build a package, enter their home details then wait for it to be delivered in the post. That was a pretty simple way to buy Stream but now things have got even more hassle-free thanks to a joint venture between Sky and Currys.

This retail partnership means customers can now walk into any branch of the high street store and pick Stream up off the shelf.

In fact, Currys is promising that over 280 UK stores will have Stream available plus there's the option to see this box in action before you splash out and buy one.

Speaking about the addition of Sky Stream, Ed Connolly, Chief Commercial Officer for Currys, said: “This partnership brings together our market-leading range and expertise when it comes to TVs, and all the unmissable content available from Sky. From today, customers can pop into their nearest Currys store and see just how easy it is for them to access all their favourite shows – whether they be Sky exclusives, Netflix blockbusters or BBC classics – all from one device that plugs right into their TV.

“We’re delighted to be able to sell this exciting new product from Sky, helping more customers than ever before to enjoy truly amazing new technology.”

So what else does Sky Stream do?

This diddy device not only has access to live channels such as Sky Max, Sky Atlantic, Sky Sports and Sky Cinema but there are also all of the best streaming apps integrated as well.

That means you can watch Netflix, Disney+ and Apple TV+ without needing any additional equipment.

Other streaming services available on the platform include Peacock, Paramount+, BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All4 and YouTube.

Sky's clever Playlist option allows you to store your favourite shows via cloud recordings and there's a handy new remote which includes full voice controls

Another bonus of Stream is that Sky offers a contract-free option which means you can leave at any time.

Prices start from around £26 per month for those happy to sign up for 12 months with things costing £29 on a month-by-month basis.
