According to a recent NPR/PBS/Marist poll released on Tuesday, it was revealed that a significant majority of Americans are unfamiliar with Tim Walz, a potential running mate. The poll, conducted from August 1-4, found that 71% of US adults either have never heard of Walz or are unsure how to rate him. This lack of recognition places him even lower in terms of public awareness compared to other potential running mate finalists such as Mark Kelly or Josh Shapiro.
Among those who are familiar with Tim Walz, the poll indicates that 17% view him favorably, while 12% hold an unfavorable opinion of him. Within the Democratic party, Walz has a 31% favorability rating, with only 7% of Democrats viewing him unfavorably.
On the other hand, the poll also highlighted the declining favorability of Republican VP pick JD Vance. Currently, Vance's ratings stand at 34% favorable and 43% unfavorable. This marks a significant shift from July when the public opinion was more evenly divided, with 28% viewing Vance favorably and 31% unfavorably.
