Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz recently met with students from historically Black colleges and universities in Atlanta as part of his final campaign swing through Georgia before Election Day. The Minnesota governor engaged with six students at a hotel in Atlanta, urging them to advocate for their peers to vote for Vice President Kamala Harris.
During the meeting, one student expressed feeling scared, to which Walz responded by sharing his own cautious optimism about the race. He acknowledged the nervousness surrounding such significant moments but emphasized the importance of taking action to address those feelings.
Walz highlighted the critical nature of each vote, emphasizing that the election outcome could come down to just a few votes per precinct. He encouraged the students to actively participate in the electoral process, underscoring the potential impact of their engagement on the final results.
This meeting with a small group of students follows a larger event held by Walz with students from Atlanta-area HBCUs during his previous visit in September. Georgia, being one of the seven pivotal battleground states, holds significant weight in determining the overall outcome of the presidential election.
