After winning Super Bowl LVI with the Los Angeles Rams, outside linebacker Von Miller is now scheduled to become a free agent in March.
The Rams would like to re-sign Miller, but it wouldn’t be surprising if the 32-year-old edge defender opts to test free agency this spring. That would leave the door open for the possibility of Miller returning to the Denver Broncos.
Denver traded Miller to Los Angeles in exchange for second- and third-round draft picks last November. The move worked out for everyone — the Rams and Miller won a Super Bowl and the Broncos got two extra draft picks for a player already scheduled to become a free agent.
Now some fans in Denver — and wide receiver Tim Patrick — are hoping Miller will re-sign with the Broncos as a free agent.
Alright @VonMiller you can come back to the broncos now! Congrats my brotha 🤞🏾

It would be quite the feat for general manager George Paton to trade Miller mid-season in 2021 and then get him back in 2022 with two extra draft picks. It remains to be seen how likely that possibility could be.
Denver has around $50 million in salary cap space and Miller has a market value of $10.6 million, according to an estimate from Spotrac.com.
It seems that the Broncos could afford to sign Miller, but the team will also have several in-house players to re-sign and Denver will want to have cap space available for the possibility of acquiring a veteran quarterback. Nevertheless, from a financial perspective, Miller returning seems feasible.
NFL free agency will begin on March 16.
