Tillman transfer latest as ex-Rangers ace left out Bayern Munich pre-season tour

Former Rangers loan star Malik Tillman will clinch a move away from Bayern Munich this week after he was left out of their squad for their pre-season tour of Asia.

Tillman spent the season at Rangers and was hugely impressive until a hamstring injury picked up in the Scottish Cup semi-final defeat to Celtic ended his season and his loan spell.

Since then, there have been conflicting reports about his future and the intricacies of the agreement between Bayern Munich and Rangers.

Rangers triggered the option to sign him permanently for £5 million, but the Bundesliga champions cancelled that which entitled the Ibrox club to significant compensation which reportedly included a £1 million fee and future add-ons.

However, his transfer saga seems set to end this week after he was not included in Bayern's travelling party for their trip to Japan.

Boss Thomas Tuchel included youngsters Arijon Ibrahimović and Gabriel Vidovic in his squad to face Manchester City and Liverpool.

But USA international Tillman has been allowed to sit it out with three Bundesliga clubs and two clubs from abroad reportedly keen to sign him.

Stuttgart and Eintracht Frankfurt have been strongly linked with the 21-year-old.

The Rangers Review team is taking the hugely-popular morning briefing LIVE at New Edmiston House on July 28.
