Fast fashion giant Primark has impressed shoppers with a bargain £7 pair of summer sandals that fans have been comparing to a £570 pair from designer Hermès.
According to social media, the £7 Primark sandals look similar to Hermès' Oran sandals, which are one of the design house's iconic staples, which it says can instantly elevate a Spring or Summer outfit by adding a touch of timeless elegance. But TikTokers say the Primark dupe looks classy and timeless - and with a saving of £563, has got the internet buzzing.
TikTok user @primarktrending shared a video showing off Primark’s new sandals, which are available in brown, black, blue, green, pink and lilac. The post was captioned: "Primark beauty.” They feature a similar design to Hermès’ Oran Sandals, with a ‘H’ shape at the front.
Our collaegues at the Manchester Evening News have had a look at the sandals themselves and can report they are gorgeous in their own right, but say there is a clear difference between the Primark footwear and the Hermès version.
"While the Primark sandals are gorgeous in their own right, and will prove a classy Summer staple, there's a clear difference between these and the Hermès pair - but that's what happens when you're paying for a brand logo, versus buying a dupe," they say.
While Primark doesn't offer an online shop, the retailer does have a website where shoppers can see its latest products and check if they're in stock before heading into stores to purchase them. The £7 Primark sandals are in stores now.
