TikToker fumes after 'weird' trip to Edinburgh Jollibee on Princes Street

A popular Scottish food reviewer has taken to TikTok to leave a scathing review of one of the city's most popular fast-food restaurants.

When Jollibee on Princes Street first opened in February last year, there were queues out of the door and the Filipino brand's eatery remains one of the most in-demand in the city.

But one food reviewer was left severely unimpressed and took to TikTok to offer his thoughts on popular dishes such as the spicy chicken sandwich, the Jolli Fries and of course, their famous Spaghetti.

In a typically sweary review, Lewis Walker (@Lewiswalkerrr on TikTok) described the meal, which he paid £17.98 for, as "quite dear" as he took to Princes Street Gardens to sit down in view of the castle to enjoy it.

The TikToker, who also runs the Dreams We Had As Children podcast, reviewed the fries, "they taste like burger van fries", and the Jollibee Chicken Sandwich "dry but the sauce was nice, 6/10" before taking on the famous Jolly Spaghetti.

Describing it as tasting like it's come from the scene in Elf, where Buddy pours the maple syrup on the spaghetti, he said: "Spaghetti from a fast food restaurant, I'm not too sure about that. It does look like it's from Pasta King. It's sweet as f**k, like a dessert. It's edible... but Spaghetti shouldn't be that sweet."

Though he didn't mind the one-piece Chickenjoy, he was less impressed by the gravy, describing it as "watery".

At one point when a nearby dog (which the owner refers to as Bailey) grabs some of his leftovers, Lewis jokes: "Even Bailey has spat it out."

He then quips that for the £18 he paid for the meal, he could have instead got himself four pints in the Grassmarket or "one pint on George Street".

Less than impressed with the meal, he finishes by saying: "I'll not be going back. It wasn't great, the Spaghetti was weird it was too sweet. They should open a dentist next door for the people who ordered the spaghetti to pop in and get their teeth checked after."

Hugely popular in the Philippines, Jollibee is known for spicy chicken, sweet Spaghetti and tropical ice cream sundaes. Edinburgh Live has contacted the brand for comment.
