If there's one thing that Wales is blessed with, it is countless areas of incredible natural beauty. And it's no surprise then that many have been highlighted as a must-visit for the coming year for people from all different areas.
Whether it is a waterfall, a beach or a scenic walk, there's plenty to appreciate in Wales in 2023, and these have been highlighted in a TikTok video which has caught the attention of many. Shannon Lawford posted a video entitled 'Places you need to visit in north Wales', accompanied by short clips of each location. Here's a list of all the beauty spots that she highlighted on her list, and why they are so special. You can see her video at the bottom of the article.

1) Cwm Idwal, Eryri
Attracting climbers, hikers, geologists, biologists, and botanists alike for many years, Cwm Idwal is one of the most impressive areas of the National Park’s landscape.
2) Traeth Llanddwyn, Newborough
Long been praised for its outstanding natural beauty and remarkable views, Ynys Llanddwyn, a small tidal island, boasts impressive sand dunes and amazing views of Snowdonia National Park, Caernarfon and the Llyn Peninsula.
3) Aber Falls, Llanfairfechan
It is located about two miles south of Abergwyngregyn, within Snowdonia National Park, the Afon Goch plunges 37m down a steep rock face to form the beautiful natural phenomenon. Aber Falls in Snowdonia, also known as Rhaeadr Fawr, is one of north Wales' many popular attractions.
4) Sappers Suspension Bridge, Betws-Y-Coed
A big favourite among Instagram users, Betws-y-Coed’s famous suspension bridge has provided a key shortcut across the River Conwy for locals and tourists for more than 90 years. It is surrounded by tree-lined hills in a picture-postcard Snowdonia valley.
5) Llyn Geirionydd, Gwydir Forest Park
You can follow our circular waymarked walking trail from Llyn Geirionydd through the forest to the nearby lake of Llyn Crafnant - enjoy views of the lakes and the mountains along the way. During the past few years, Llyn Geirionydd in the Conwy Valley has become a magnet for walkers, wild campers and picnickers.
6) Pistyll Rhaeadr, Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant
At more than 240ft high, this gem in a secluded corner of the Tanat Valley, near Llanrhaeadr ym Mochnant in Powys, is actually higher than the Niagara Falls. This waterfall one of the Seven Wonders of Wales and one of the tallest waterfalls in Wales.
7) Black Rock Sands, Morfa Bychan
Stretching for about two miles, the beach is backed by a dune system which has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest. There are plenty of rockpools to explore here as well as some interesting caverns.
8) Llyn Cau, Dolgellau
A a glacial cwm on Cadair Idris with a towering curtain of mountain walls. There's a small stony beach on the western side from which you can steep into the lake – though some people have been known to dive from rocks.
9) Dolgoch Falls, Eryri
There are various walks around the waterfalls, including a circular tour taking in all three levels. The falls are part of the Nant Dol-gôch stream, which flows into the Afon Fathew. A series of three waterfalls found in a ravine in the woods.
