It’s bank holiday Monday, and so there are likely some people waking up with the dreaded Halloween hangover across Ireland.
The idea that anything other than sleep, water, and food could heal a hangover is usually passed off as myths or clever brand marketing.
However, the one issue with trying to eat or drink the morning after is that some people are too nauseous when they wake up from the night before, so one health expert has taken to TikTok to reveal ‘the best drink for hangover nausea.’

In the short video Dr. Chris, a Pharmacist from Utah, claims that Ginger Beer or Ginger Ale is the best way to rid yourself of that early morning sickness.
In the caption alongside the viral video, he wrote: “Ginger contains gingerol, which is great for nausea and settling upset stomachs.
“If your ginger beer or ale is made with real ginger then it may be able to help with post-drinking nausea.”
In a separate video entitled ‘Weird hangover cures,’ he also suggests that submerging your face in a large bowl of iced water will activate “the divers reflex” which “turns on the part of your brain responsible for digestion, which might help with nausea.”
The two posts have received over 15 million views with people hailing the tricks for aiding their hangovers in recent months.
One user wrote: “I wanted to say this was bullsh*t, so I tried it and I’ll be damned… I don’t feel quite as bad.”
Another said: “I’ve heard the ginger theory before so tried it yesterday, takes a little time, but it works.”
