TikTok McDonald's worker reveals biggest 'icks' and customers that make her cry

A McDonald's worker has revealed her biggest "icks" and things customers do that make her cry.

TikToker Megan Grace, who works at a drive-thru McDonald's, spoke about the stresses of her job. She said: "Number one, [when customers] say hello repeatedly on the headset before I answer you. You pull up and you’re immediately like 'hello, hello, hello'.

"I can hear you. I just haven’t answered because I'm in the middle of doing something. Just wait five seconds, please." The student said one of the things customers did that annoyed her was when they complained about the other lane of cars being served first, Birmingham Live reports.

She said: "On the drive through we have two headsets, one for each lane. It’s not one person running both lanes, so I do apologise if the person from the lane that pulled up after you got served first.

"But that’s not on me, I don’t even know you’re there on my headset." Megan added that she has also had customers complain that the food didn't look like the picture. She continued: "The food in those pictures is fake, it is plastic. Those are chemicals. This is actual food."

Megan said one of her "icks" was when customers left a "complete" mess on the tables. She said: "I get that it is part of our job to make sure stuff is tidy and clean stuff up, but not to the extent that you have left every single piece of rubbish on your table. The bin is literally at the exit, you have to walk past it to leave."

The young woman went on to say that customers who complained about their food taking ages when the restaurant is busy and understaffed have made her cry. She said: "If you can see that there are 20 people waiting for food, and there are two of us [working] on front, please don’t start having a go at me that food is taking ages.

"You can see how many orders we have. Just please, please be patient. It causes so much extra stress and has made me cry on occasion."

She added that there were people who "complain about hot drinks being cold, when they were served 15 minutes ago". She also dislikes when customers ask for a "normal coffee" as "I don’t know what a normal coffee is for you, so please specify what coffee".
