TikTok rising star Rory Teasley was pronounced dead aged 28 after he and his boyfriend allegedly got into a fight over a video game, according to Michigan’s Oakland County Sheriff’s Department.

The influencer, known as @too2pump4tv on the social media platform, was allegedly strangled by his partner of 10 years, Docquen Jovo Watkins, over an altercation. Rory’s boyfriend reportedly rang the police shortly before midnight on January 6th, saying his partner was now “sleeping” on the couch, local news outlet Click On Detroit reported.

When officials arrived at their Pontiac apartment, Rory was unconscious. He was later pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital.

The Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office told E! News that the TikTok star died of asphyxia and neck compression and his death was ruled a homicide.

“We see far too often across the country these days when people resort to violence over trivial and insignificant disagreements,” Sheriff Michael Bouchard said in a statement. “There is never a reason where violence is acceptable over a disagreement. Those that do so will be held accountable.”

According to police, Rory’s partner was arrested on a second-degree murder charge and was arraigned on January 9th. A preliminary examination is said to be held on January 25th and online records show he is currently being held without bond at the Oakland County Jail.

Social media feeds were soon flooded with messages to mourn the late TikTok star.

A frequent TikTok collaborator of Rory’s, @NotoriousMoke, turned to Instagram with a heartfelt message for his “gay best friend.”

“I’m so lost for words I can’t stop crying. I love you so much,” he penned. “I just need one last video with you. One last phone call. One last reading session.”

Rory’s most recent post was on the same day he sadly died. It showed him poking fun at the realities of approaching 30-years-old.

“Rip. Really hurt the city off this one you will be missed such a beautiful soul,” one commented, while another poignant message read: “It’s sad you didn’t even get to make it to 30…We love u Rory.”

Another added: “The whole city is hurt but best believe justice will be served!!!! We luv you baby rest in power.”

Rest in peace, Rory.
