The CEO of TikTok expressed gratitude towards President-elect Donald Trump for his willingness to collaborate in finding a solution to prevent the app from being banned in the United States. The CEO, Shou Chew, acknowledged Trump's support and understanding of the platform, citing the president's own use of TikTok to engage with a global audience and amass over 60 billion views on his content.

Despite Trump's initial stance on banning TikTok due to national security concerns, his position evolved during the 2024 campaign. A meeting between Trump and Chew at Mar-a-Lago in December seemed to have influenced this shift. Chew is anticipated to attend the upcoming inauguration on Monday, as per insider sources.

In a TikTok video message, Chew reassured users of the company's commitment to ensuring the platform's continued success. He emphasized the importance of upholding the First Amendment and opposing arbitrary censorship as core principles of TikTok's mission.

Recent reports suggest that Trump is considering a plan to delay the ban on TikTok, granting the incoming administration more time to potentially negotiate a deal with a US buyer to salvage the app. This prospective executive order aims to provide TikTok's 170 million American users with an extended period to access the platform.
